Book Report

Okay...I just got done reading Boundaries: When to Say Yes, When to Say No, To Take Control of Your Life by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. This book is about taking control of your boundaries and your life. It talks about being able to say no to people.

Saying no is such a small word but sometimes so hard to say. It talks about how to build or rebuild your boundaries so that you become a better and healthy emotional individual. It helps you find out where boundaries are missing and helps you to start taking back control of your life.

Who do I think should read this book? Anyone that is breathing. *grin* The one thing that might disuade someone from reading this book is that authors are Christians and use the Bible to support their points. They talk about God's examples in boundary settings. As a Christian this did not bother me at all, but if you are a non-Christian then this may detract from the book's message.

Over all I wish I had read this book years ago. It's helping me to take responsibility for myself and my actions and to better define my boundaries in all aspects of my life but espicially with my ex. Building definable boundaries is not an overnight process and I see myself going back from time to time and rereading this book. It's definately a keeper.

The writing was clear and concise and well organized. It was an easy read and with almost 300 pages not that big. The content was presented well and was very compelling to read.
